Michel Charlebois: Modern, Draft, non-AIM, DH/non-DH Charlebois is a non-AIM, draft league manager designed for modern oriented rosters. Pitching: Charlebois save any pitcher with 20 or more starts or 15 starts from being used in relief. All other pitchers can and will be used in relief. A (generally) modern pitching style is used with a quick hook for starters in trouble or in save situations. Setup relievers are usually used to setup a one inning closer (the LaRussa style). Closers and superclosers are judged by grades with closers having adjusted grades (grade +/- control ratings) of between 14 and 17. Highest of those is used as primary closer. Superclosers (a la Rivera or Hoffmann) are relievers with relieving grades (not adjusted grades) of 18 and higher. These will pitch one inning for the most part but may come in the 8th with one or more outs and two runners on. All relievers under 18 grades will setup this high grade reliever. Charlebois will, however, pull the supercloser late if he's struggling for a "normal" closer or, if available, another supercloser. One batter relief specialists are used (e.g., a Orosco or reliever, usually lefthanders, who averaged less than one inning per outing (innings/relief appearances<1) Starters go nine in lopsided games if possible. No quick hook with safe leads. Platoon matchups are used in most cases (close games). Pitchers are given "artificial" RRs. Starters are 38-starting durability; relievers have RRs of 18 for "1" durabilities, 14 for "2s" and 10 for "3s". Offense: Only steals of second are used. No steals of third or home, or double steals used. Steal success has to be greater than 24+deflead (margin -2/+4). Only players with more than 25 attempts will run. Otherwise, they stay. Charlebois will hit and run more aggressively with steal chance given an important role (24+ if runner on third, 22+ if runner on first). Hit run rating for the batter must be 2 or higher and there must be either a Z pitcher (in control ratings), H&R rating of 3 for the batter, grade of pitcher 12 or higher, one out, or OBP of the batter minus his BA under or equal to .100. Will PH somewhat aggressively especially if platoon advantage/disadvantage. Star players are never PH for except in routs to be subbed for. Will PH ahead late to pad lead, to bunt in critical situation, for a better H&R situation, for announced pinch hitter with pitcher change and platoon disadvantage. Has blowout sub strategies that kick in in the 7th onward. Better defensive subs 8th on in 2-5 leads.
